Lois Gutierrez born into Santa Clara Pueblo in 1948 is a daughter of Pertra Gutierrez (1906-1992) and sister of Gloria “Golden Rod” Garcia, Thelma Talachy, and Minnie Vigil. 

  Lois Gutierrez is a multi award winning artist who specializes in polychrome plates, jars, and bowls. Lois holds years of accolades including first in painted pottery jar, bowl and plate in the Santa Fe Indian Market in 1975 and 1976 and at least 10 more noteworthy awards over the years.  

Lois and her husband Derek de la Cruz create pottery together, helping her to find the various colors that Lois uses in her designs. Her traditional polychrome pottery makes her unique to other potters in Santa Clara and around the world.
