Tommy Singer (1940 - May 31, 2014) was a Navajo silversmith who specialized in chip-inlay jewelry.

Singer was a member of the Navajo Nation from Winslow, Arizona. There he perfected his craft working on the Navajo reservation in a small studio surrounded with his family and other tribal members. Beginning at the age of seven, he was taught silversmithing by his father.

Ultimately, he came to use turquoise or coral chips in his silverwork. His chip inlay technique became widespread in his community. He also incorporated stamps and overlay work.

When asked about his work, Singer said, “every piece is made with the various meanings from my traditional ways - the Navajo way of living. My father was a silversmith too. He taught me and wanted me to continue this trade. It was my father’s dream that I learn to silversmith so that I could continue his beliefs”.

After his death, his wife, Rosita (Rose), has carried on the tradition and continued to create jewelry using designs Singer created prior to his passing. These items are stamped with "T&R Singer.

How To Measure Your Bracelet Size

Measure your own wrist with a flexible tape measure around the portion of your wrist where you would like to wear the bracelet. The bracelet circumference will need to be that size, or larger.

How To Read Cuff Bracelet Measurements:

  • Total Circumference- the total circumference of the bracelet will be the number listed as circumference, plus the gap.
  • For example, if the bracelet circumference is 5 1/2" and the gap is 1 1/4", the total circumference is 6 3/4". To wear this bracelet, your wrist should be around this size (total circumference).

  • Inside Circumference- measurement taken from around the inside of the bracelet excluding the gap.

  • Gap- the opening of the bracelet, some bracelets may have an adjustable gap.
